Aldo G. Burcheri
PLA, ASLA
Founding Principal, Owner
Aldo is the founder and visionary of Division 32, a full service landscape architecture office recognized for private and public garden projects that span the country. His life-long connection with the landscape formulated at a young age, where he raked vacant baseball fields and laid remnant sod for pleasure. His ability to collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors make him a unique asset to any project. Skilled in communication, his primary focus is on transparency and his expertise is in maintaining design integrity through the construction process.
He earned his Master in Landscape Architecture degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
Professionally trained by the esteemed landscape architects, Peter Lindsey Schaudt and Douglas Hoerr, Aldo is devoted to seeking excellence in design, through practice. As a Senior Landscape Architect at HSLA, he gained a peerless education across a wide scale of work, spanning from international resorts, private estates, public parks, museums, golf courses and retail districts. There, he developed an understanding of how budgets, construction and project
management for complex projects evolve.
Prior to receiving his MLA, Aldo worked as a designer for Christy Webber Landscapes in Chicago, where he designed and built hundreds of private gardens and managed the seasonal displays for iconic institutions like Millennium Park, Soldier Field, O’Hare and Midway Airports, amongst others.
Aldo is a an adjunct professor and thesis advisor at the Illinois
Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture, where he has taught studio courses in design, materials, and ecological infrastructure for their burgeoning landscape architecture program.
